Who We Work With

Air source heat pumps for landlords

We can install a range of retrofit energy saving measures for private landlords and housing associations which we can also help benefit from government-backed schemes to reduce your energy bills on behalf of tenants who meet the edibility criteria.

With ongoing rise in energy prices, people who rent a property will find the cost of living more difficult as they are unable to install renewable technology and energy efficient measures in the property themselves. Making energy upgrades to your property will reduce heat loss and save your tenants money on their energy bills.

Designed from the outset as a complete central heating and domestic hot water system, our heat pumps for landlords and rented properties are robust, year round high performance systems built for the UK climate.

We understand that as a landlord, there might be a lot of information to take in. We do our best to help our customers find their perfect system, suitable scheme and manage the entire process from start to finish to ensure your switch to renewable heating is as smooth as possible!

An overview of our heat pump installation process for landlords

As a landlord, it is important not to let your properties fall behind and that they at least meet the Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES). MEES states that all privately rented properties must have an EPC (Energy Performance Certificate) rating of E or higher.

Installing renewable energy sources and upgrading the insulation not only saves your tenants money on their energy bills, but it will also make your property more appealing, and it may allow for you to increase your rental fees. The private rented sector is not always up to speed when it comes to energy efficiency, but there’s a huge demand, now more than ever, for renters seeking properties that won’t cost them a fortune when it comes to energy bills. Especially houses that don’t utilise gas!

Make your rental properties more appealing.

Current MEES regulations set the standard for energy efficiency in rented properties – they must have at least an EPC rating of E. It is very likely that this rating will increase due to the ongoing energy crisis and the UK’s efforts to reduce carbon emissions. Tenants will always choose a property that will cost them less to power and heat and this means that landlords who are ahead of the game will see more demand for their homes.

With grants already available to landlords, now has never been a better time to improve the energy efficiency of your properties and discover our heat pumps for landlords today. As the UK government continue to focus on improving carbon reduction and sustainability, new schemes for landlords will likely emerge and you will be forced to take action to ensure your properties meet requirements.

What schemes are available for landlords?

There are several grants available to you as a landlord that will help towards the cost of energy improvements in your rented properties.

As a landlord it is possible to take advantage of the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) scheme if your tenant claims certain benefits or if they are deemed to be on a low income by their local authority. Under ECO4 (the 4th and final phase of the ECO scheme), if you are a landlord with a residential property, the EPC rating determines what energy upgrades can be installed on that property. ECO4 focuses on a ‘fabric first’ approach which means quality insulation will always come first. There are many insulation measures available, including cavity wall, loft, solid wall, room in roof and underfloor. There are also other measures that come into ECO4 such as a boiler upgrades, electric storage heater upgrades, first time central heating, air source heat pumps, and solar panels.

The Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) is available not only to homeowners, but also those who let properties. BUS contributes £5,000 towards the installation cost of an air source heat pump. Our heat pumps for landlords have never been more accessible with BUS being extended until 2028 meaning there is plenty of time to get involved!
